Job Overview

technology. You will manage, lead and coach a team of technical experts who build software and customer experiences that continues to drive, shape and deliver our customer‑centric, data driven and digital first strategy. This vacancy is a 12 month fixed term contract position. As a Technical Lead for a squad, you will ensure collaborative working with Product Owners, Developers, QA's, Architects and the wider business. You will lead from the front with expert hands‑on software development experience and ensure high technical standards are met throughout the team.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner to ensure the squad has a clear mission, understands the wider tech strategy, maintains a healthy backlog and works to Agile practices.
  • Improve engineering practices in the squad, including code quality, testing and CI/CD.
  • Act as a senior member of esure's engineering community.
  • Motivate people and lead a software development squad in an agile environment to deliver and achieve great things.
Qualifications
  • Java technical expertise and Spring Boot experience (key).
  • Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker (ideally with Kubernetes).
  • Cloud platform experience, ideally AWS.
  • Advocate of agile methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, TDD, BDD and continuous delivery.
Interview Process
  • Introductory call with one of our Talent Partners.
  • 1‑hour interview with two of our Technical Leads.
  • 30‑minute meeting with members of one of our Agile Squads – Product Owner and Delivery Manager.
