Are you a creative problem-solver with a passion for precision design and engineering excellence? Join a market-leading UK manufacturer and supplier of plastic building components, trusted by national housebuilders and the social housing sector.

As a Technical Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming customer construction drawings into practical, high-quality GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) products. Working from our Tamworth head office, you’ll collaborate across design, production, and sales to bring smart, sustainable building solutions to life.

What You’ll Do
  • Interpret customer construction drawings to design and develop GRP products.
  • Create high-quality, on-time drawings and technical documentation.
  • Apply GRP properties and manufacturing principles in every design.
  • Support production, sales, and customer service teams with technical expertise.
  • Liaise confidently with clients, management, and directors to ensure projects meet expectations.
  • Manage design data, maintain documentation, and occasionally visit sites to see your designs in action.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling (Autodesk Inventor and Vault experience ideal).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Experience in a design or technical engineering role within manufacturing or construction.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork.
  • Confident communicator who can manage both internal and external relationships.
Desirable Experience
  • GRP manufacturing knowledge.
  • Familiarity with modern construction techniques.
  • Strong understanding of materials and production processes
