What is the role?

We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Technical Coordinator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to build a career in the utilities and infrastructure sector.

In this role, you will work closely with the Utilities Manager, providing support across projects involving power, water, gas, and telecoms. You will gain experience in technical coordination, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery within a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

The position is central to ensuring the timely delivery of utility services (water, electricity, gas, and telecoms) and will support the Utilities Manager throughout both the pre‑construction and site delivery phases of our projects.

What you'll do as a Technical Coordinator
  • Assist the Utilities Manager in coordinating utility‑related projects across multiple sites.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation, schedules, and reports.
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, statutory providers (Scottish Water, SPEN, SSEN, SGN, Openreach, etc.), and internal teams to ensure smooth communication and project progress.
  • Provide administrative support for tender submissions and project approvals.
  • Support preparation of utility‑related documentation for planning and technical submissions.
  • Assist with site team queries relating to meter installation, connection dates, and utility layouts.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, filing, and version control of service drawings, correspondence, and approvals.
What experience do I need?
  • Experience in coordination or senior administration, preferably in a technical support setting, construction administration, or similar is essential.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent using Excel, Outlook, and document management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple service drawings (training provided).
  • Familiarity with Scottish utilities processes (Water for Scotland, SPEN / SSEN, Openreach) is desirable.
  • Experience in residential housebuilding or construction will be an advantage.
