A leading defence and engineering firm is looking for a Technical Author (Electrical) to develop maintenance documentation for critical infrastructure supporting the Royal Navy. The successful candidate will have proven experience in electrical engineering documentation and stakeholder collaboration. This full-time permanent position offers a hybrid work model and includes various benefits such as a contributory pension scheme and professional fee payment. Candidates must be sole UK nationals due to security requirements.
Location: Faslane, Helensburgh, GB, G84 8HL. Hybrid Working.
Compensation: Up to £49,915 + Benefits.

As a Technical Author you will produce clear and concise maintenance documentation for the planned & preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, including Nuclear Safety Implicated (NSI) infrastructure that supports the Royal Navy’s operations at HMNB Clyde.
You will convert technical information from various sources, including Operating & Maintenance Manuals (O&Ms), British Standards, Ministry of Defence (MOD) Technical Standards and MOD Rules, into user-friendly maintenance procedures. You will collaborate with stakeholders such as Engineers and Subject Matter Experts to enhance & improve documentation, ensuring it is compliant with relevant regulations and meets site safety requirements. You will also be involved in creating procedures in Digital Format for use on Mobile Devices.

This role is a full-time permanent position 36 hours per week (Mon‑Thurs) and includes a working-from-home arrangement, typically 2 days per week, although this can fluctuate.
Note: This position is subject to enhanced national security vetting. The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements (SC, NNPPI or DV).
