Qualifications

  • Experience managing customer complaints.
  • Desirable previous experience in a food manufacturing or Technical environment.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management / Food Safety systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manage non-conformances with suppliers and ensure corrective actions are in place.
  • Support customer complaints ensuring they are logged and resolved.
  • Maintain supplier documentation for due diligence and audit readiness.
  • Report emerging risks and maintain document control logs.

Overview

Technical Assistant

Location: Harvey and Brockless, Battersea, London

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30 - 17:00

Salary: £28,000

At our site in Battersea, we slice and dice these cheeses to the liking of our customers.

Purpose

To support the Technical Team by managing administrative tasks related to quality control, food safety documentation and regulatory compliance. The Technical Assistant will be the key point of contact for internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and coordination between departments, while also maintaining records and documentation essential to supplier compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Raise, investigate and close non-conformances with suppliers ensuring appropriate corrective actions are in place
  • Support the customer complaint system to ensure that complaints are logged, raised with suppliers as appropriate, investigated internally and closed
  • Reply to customer, supplier and sales queries and reply in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist in maintaining supplier documentation to ensure due diligence and audit readiness
  • Support with shelf-life extension requests from production by liaising with suppliers and issuing as appropriate
  • Report any new emerging risks through horizon scanning
  • Maintaining the document control log ensuring it is current and up to date
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
  • Customer service experience including managing customer complaints
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing or Technical environment desirable
  • Knowledge of Quality Management / Food Safety systems (Desirable)
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • IT skills (e.g., Word / Excel / PowerPoint / Outlook)
