Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team of 3–4 engineers. You will write domain-driven backend code and architect robust systems in a modern SaaS stack including Scala, Python, and TypeScript.

You will leverage AI coding agents to boost productivity without sacrificing quality, driving product-centric technical decisions and multi-tenant cloud delivery.

Qualifications

• Deep backend engineering experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Strong production experience with Scala; Python and TypeScript are a plus.
• Must-have: proficient with AI coding agents to boost velocity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding and execution; you’ll tackle the most complex backend challenges.
• Lead the technical direction using Scala and Python for robust data systems, and TypeScript for frontend features.
• Champion the use of AI coding agents to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality.
• Own technical execution and ship features with a multi-tenant, cloud-first mindset.
• Mentor 3–4 engineers through pair programming and rigorous code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate goals into concrete technical tasks.
• Ensure production health, reliability, and scalable cloud deployments.
