Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team of 3–4 engineers. You will write exceptional backend code, architect robust systems, and lead by example in a modern SaaS stack using Scala, Python, and TypeScript.

You will leverage AI coding agents to multiply team output without sacrificing quality. You will own technical execution, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with Product to deliver customer-focused features that scale in the cloud.

Qualifications

• Deep backend engineering experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Proven production experience with Scala; Python or TypeScript is a big plus.
• Must-have: deep experience using AI coding agents in daily work, prompt effectively, review AI-generated code for security or architecture.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on coding and execution, writing high-quality backend code.
• Guide technical direction using Scala and Python, with TypeScript for frontend features.
• Drive AI-assisted velocity and teach the team to ship faster with responsible AI tooling.
• Own the product-driven technical agenda and align engineering with business goals.
• Own the SaaS delivery lifecycle for multi-tenant cloud deployment and reliability.
• Mentor 3–4 engineers through pair programming and code reviews.
