Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team of 3-4 engineers. You will be a builder who writes exceptional backend code, architects robust systems, and leads by example in a SaaS environment.

You’ll own the technical execution with a modern stack centered on Scala, Python, and TypeScript, and you’ll leverage AI coding agents to boost team output while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• Deep backend engineering experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Strong, production-proven experience writing code in Scala; Python or TypeScript are a plus.
• Deep experience using AI coding agents in daily work and reviewing AI-generated code for security/architecture.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on Coding & Execution: write high-quality backend code and tackle complex technical challenges.
• Technical Stack Mastery: guide tech direction using Scala and Python; TypeScript for full-stack features.
• AI-Driven Velocity: promote AI coding agents and teach the team to use them efficiently.
