Job summary

Actian is seeking a highly technical Tech Lead to guide a small feature team (3–4 engineers). You will write exceptional backend code, architect robust systems, and lead by example with a modern SaaS stack (Scala, Python, TypeScript). You will leverage AI coding agents to boost output without compromising quality.

You will own the technical execution, mentor the team through code reviews, and collaborate with Product Managers to ship features for multi-tenant cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• Deep backend experience building and scaling cloud-native SaaS platforms.
• Production-ready code in Scala; Python and TypeScript are a plus.
• Must-have: experience using AI coding agents and reviewing AI-generated code.
• Strong ownership mindset with ability to lead a small engineering team.

Responsibilities

• W hands-on coding and execution for complex backend challenges.
• Guide technical direction of the team across Scala, Python, and TS.
• Promote AI coding agents and teach efficient usage to the team.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine features and priorities.
• Ensure multi-tenant cloud scalability and production deployment.
• Mentor engineers via pair programming and code reviews.
• Maintain production health, security, and reliability in the cloud.
