Job Role :

Team Leader / Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant

The Support worker / Healthcare assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines including personal care and feeding.

Responsibilities
  • Help patients to wash, shower or dress
  • Serve food or help people eat
  • Make and change beds
  • Turn patients who are confined to bed to avoid pressure sores
  • Talk to patients to help them feel less anxious
  • Help patients to move around if they find it difficult
  • Give out and collect bedpans and help patients to the toilet
  • Make sure the ward or patient’s homes are tidy
  • Keep supplies and equipment in order
  • Use mobility aids and equipment to help lift and move patients; escort patients between departments
  • Assist with induction training for new healthcare assistants (as experience grows)
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in care
  • Medication training and administration – essential
  • Compassionate and friendly attitude
  • Understanding and respect for people who need healthcare support
  • Previous experience and/or qualifications in care are essential
