Job summary

LRL is recruiting for Team Leaders and Deputy Managers across the Midlands to provide operational leadership in high-acuity care settings with complex behavioural needs. The role blends shift leadership with direct care, staff supervision, quality assurance and incident management.

You will lead teams in 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 deployments, ensure safe care plan implementation, and uphold safeguarding and least restrictive practice across shifts.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in complex care, learning disability, autism, ABI, mental health or high-risk behavioural services.
• Experience leading 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 packages.
• Experience managing behaviours that challenge and physical aggression.
• Advanced practical de-escalation and crisis prevention.
• Experience with physically intervening/restraint where appropriate.
• Experience leading or supervising staff during significant behavioural incidents.
• Experience implementing PBS plans and complex risk assessments.
• Knowledge of DoLS, safeguarding and least-restrictive practice.
• Strong incident reporting and escalation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and manage staff deployment within enhanced staffing arrangements.
• Oversee risk and ensure staffing matches individual presentation.
• Educate staff on triggers, warning signs, prevention, and escalation protocols.
• Lead responses during significant behavioural incidents.
• Ensure de-escalation is primary and interventions are used only when lawful and necessary.
• Coordinate training and supervision of staff during incidents.
• Liaise with Deputy Manager, Service Manager and clinical team.
• Promote safeguarding, dignity, independence and least restrictive practice.
• Ensure DoLS compliance and proper escalation of incidents.
