Job summary

Linkit Recruitment is recruiting Team Leaders / Deputy Managers across the Midlands to provide operational leadership for staff delivering high‑acuity support to individuals with complex behavioural needs in 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1 staffing arrangements.

The role blends direct care with shift leadership, staff supervision, quality assurance and incident management, ensuring safe care plans, PBS strategies and DoLS requirements are followed across the team.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in complex care and high‑risk behavioural services.
• Experience leading 3:1, 4:1 or 5:1 packages.
• Proven ability to manage behaviours that challenge and aggression.
• Advanced de‑escalation and crisis prevention skills.
• Experience with PBS plans and complex risk assessments.
• Knowledge of DoLS and safeguarding best practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the staff team during shifts and allocate within enhanced staffing.
• Oversee risk and ensure staffing matches individual needs.
• Ensure staff recognise triggers and escalation protocols.
• Lead responses during significant behavioural incidents.
• Prioritise de‑escalation and use interventions only when lawful.
• Ensure trained staff participate in physical interventions if needed.
• Coordinate responses to high‑risk events and emergencies.
• Run shift briefings, handovers and document reviews.
• Escalate incidents appropriately and participate in post‑incident reviews.
• Monitor practice, support supervision and performance management.
• Identify training needs and contribute to PBS implementation.
• Liaise with Deputy Manager, clinical team and external colleagues.
• Promote safeguarding, dignity, and least restrictive practice.
• Ensure DoLS conditions are understood and observed.
