Job description

Tradewind Recruitment are to appoint an EYFS Classroom Support Assistant to join an 'Outstanding' Primary School in Middlesbrough.

This full time role will focus on supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception), many of whom have additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or complex learning needs. You will work as part of a nurturing EYFS team to provide high-quality care, targeted interventions, and a stimulating environment that supports every child's development. The role will start on Monday 5th January 2026 and will be for the remainder of the academic year, with an option to become a permanent member of their team.

About you

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic individual who can:

  • Bring experience of working with young children in EYFS settings
  • Support pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or complex needs) in their early learning journey
  • Must have either Level 2 Practitioner or Level 3 Educator qualifications
  • Act as a positive role model, fostering independence, curiosity, and social skills
  • Create a safe, imaginative, and engaging learning environment
  • Demonstrate resilience, patience, and adaptability when supporting children's needs
  • Work collaboratively with EYFS teachers, SEN specialists, and external professionals
