Job summary

Supply Hive Wales in Cardiff is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism (ASD). The role involves helping the child access learning, build confidence and engage positively in class. The ideal candidate will have experience in schools, with ALN/SEND exposure, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

The position is full-time with a start date in October 2026. Pay is £93 per day, and ongoing support from a recruitment consultant is provided to help

Responsibilities

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school and provide 1:1 support to a child in Year 2 with Autism (ASD). The successful candidate will be caring, patient and confident in supporting children on an individual basis, helping them to access learning, develop their confidence and engage positively within the classroom.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Ideally have experience supporting children with ALN/SEND, particularly Autism.
• Be patient, nurturing and understanding of individual needs.
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Be confident supporting a child on a 1:1 basis.
• Be reliable, proactive and committed to making a positive difference.
