Job summary

The Supply Register partners with Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company to recruit a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant for St Andrew's Catholic Primary School. This full-time role provides direct support to a Year 2 pupil with ASD, helping access learning and participate in classroom activities.

The successful candidate will work closely with the teacher and SENCO, fostering the child’s learning, confidence, and wellbeing in a nurturing Catholic primary setting.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with ASD or additional needs is desirable.
• Experience in a Primary School setting is advantageous.
• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Commitment to supporting children's learning, wellbeing and development.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD in Year 2.
• Assist the child in accessing learning activities and following classroom routines.
• Support the pupil's social, emotional, and academic development.
• Work with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
• Encourage independence while offering guidance and reassurance.
• Monitor progress and contribute to the child's development.
• Uphold safeguarding and school policies at all times.

The Supply Register is proud to be working in partnership with Our Lady and All Saints Catholic Multi Academy Company (OLAAS CMAC) to recruit a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant for St Andrew's Catholic Primary School.

This rewarding full-time role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The school is looking for a patient, nurturing and proactive individual who can build positive relationships and help the child access learning, develop confidence, and thrive within the classroom environment.

The Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
