Job summary

Teaching Personnel is partnered with a welcoming primary school in Altrincham seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) from October 2026. You will support academic progress, social development and emotional wellbeing in a nurturing classroom environment.

Responsibilities

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Altrincham that is seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) from October 2026.

The Role

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with autism throughout the school day.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism (desirable)
• Has previous experience supporting primary-aged pupils in a school or similar setting
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
• Understands the importance of consistency and building positive relationships
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills
• Is proactive, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs
• Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential)
