Job summary

Flourish Education is recruiting a part-time Year 4 Teaching Assistant for a welcoming Warwick primary school. You will support the class teacher, assist with KS2 activities, and help with small-group literacy and numeracy work. Commitment to safeguarding and strong communication are essential.

This position is three days per week from September, contributing to a positive, inclusive learning environment with ongoing training and support.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience in a Primary School setting with KS2 knowledge.
  • Experience in Year 4 desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher with engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum.
  • Provide general classroom support to keep pupils engaged and making progress.

  • Offer additional individual pupil support as required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and independence in the classroom.

Job description

Are you a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding part-time role? A welcoming and supportive Primary school in Warwick is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term basis. This is a part-time position, working three days per week within a Year 4 class, providing general classroom support and working closely with the class teacher to help pupils achieve their full potential. This role is ideal for a passionate Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting children during the important Key Stage 2 years. You will play a key role in delivering engaging learning experiences, supporting small group interventions, and helping to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment. The school is looking for someone with previous Primary School experience and strong Key Stage 2 knowledge who can build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents. They are hoping to meet suitable candidates ahead of a September start.

As a Year 4 Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum.
  • Providing general classroom support to ensure pupils remain engaged and make good progress.
  • Working with small groups of pupils to reinforce learning in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
  • Providing additional support to individual pupils where required.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting independence within the classroom.
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Assisting with classroom preparation and the organisation of learning resources.
  • Observing and monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback to the class teacher.
  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
To be successful in this Year 4 Teaching Assistant role, you will need:
  • A minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Previous experience working within a Primary School.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of supporting pupils across Key Stage 2.
  • Experience working within a Year 4 is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible, Reliable, and professional attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to use initiative.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months.
  • A minimum of two excellent professional references.
