Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Job Location: The De Montfort School (TDMS)
Salary: TA1 point 2-4 (£24,413-£25,185) pro rata
Hours: 32.5 hours term time weekdays only plus the school training days
Closing Date: Friday 12 January at 10:00am

About the role

We are seeking to appoint a teaching assistant to work at TDMS to support the classroom teacher with their responsibility for the development and education of students, including those with special physical, emotional and educational needs, by utilising detailed knowledge and specialist skills. The post is for 32.5 hours per week term time weekdays only plus the school training days. The school day is 8.30am – 3.30pm. This role reports to the SENCo. We welcome applications from candidates with varying levels of experience, and the salary will reflect the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

  • Previous experience of working in a classroom environment with students
  • Previous experience of working in a classroom environment with students who are disabled or have special educational needs
  • Experience of procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding
  • To have undertaken a range of training opportunities e.g. NVQ level 2 or above qualification appropriate to the post
  • GCSE in English and maths
  • Good IT, numeracy and literacy skills
