SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 – Year 6)

Location: Near Beaminster, Dorset
Contract: By agreement (full-time preferred)
Start Date: By agreement

Are you a patient, caring and committed individual who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs?

We are pleased to be working with a welcoming and supportive school near Beaminster who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 6 pupil with special educational needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to support a child at a key stage of their educational journey, helping them build confidence, independence and readiness for transition.

The school offers a nurturing and inclusive environment, where staff work closely together to ensure every child feels supported and valued.

The Role:
  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with SEN
  • Support learning across the curriculum, adapting activities to meet individual needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing
  • Help develop independence and confidence, particularly in preparation for secondary transition
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have experience supporting children with SEN (desirable, not essential)
  • Be patient, calm and nurturing in their approach
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be reliable, committed and proactive
  • Be passionate about inclusive education and pupil wellbeing
