Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and passionate SEND Teacher with QTS to join our team in the Doncaster area. As a SEN Teacher, you will provide high‑quality, tailored tuition sessions to students across various year groups, ranging from Year 1 to Post‑16, in Maths and/or English and/or Science, as well as potentially other subjects. You will deliver tuition in line with the current UK national curriculum and work to build students' academic confidence, social skills, and overall success.

Pay rate is £28‑£30 per hour PAYE. Sessions are available on school premises, at students' homes, or in public spaces (such as libraries). Tuition can range from 1 hour per week to up to 15 hours per week, offering the opportunity to form long‑term, meaningful relationships and provide consistent support and encouragement.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver tuition sessions in Maths and/or English and/or Science, following the UK national curriculum in the Doncaster area.
• Work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and adjust approaches to ensure inclusivity and accessibility.
• Provide individualised support for students in both core academic subjects and social development.
• Work with students across a range of year groups, from Key Stage 1 through to Post‑16.
• Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that cater to each student's unique learning needs.
• Foster a positive and supportive learning environment that builds students' confidence and self‑esteem.
• Maintain ongoing communication with students and their families regarding progress and any areas for further development.

Requirements

• Be a Teacher with QTS status.
• Proven experience in delivering tuition in Maths and/or English, and/or Science to learners with different SEN needs.
• Strong understanding of the current UK national curriculum.
• Experience working with students with SEN.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong, positive relationships with students.
• DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one before employment commences.
