Job description

We are seeking a committed, passionate and flexible Teacher of English capable of teaching KS3 to 5. The ideal candidate will be organised and collaborative, with strong classroom management skills. Applications are encouraged from both experienced candidates and those seeking their first teaching position, including ECTs.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the education of students at Sherfield School. As a 3 months to 18 years co‑educational day and boarding independent school, there are many opportunities to develop and succeed.

The Teacher of English will focus on delivering excellent lessons that promote both attainment and engagement, as well as providing personalised feedback to ensure all students make progress and meet expectations. Teachers must meet national standards, ensure appropriate planning and preparation, and effectively deploy support staff where applicable. In addition, teachers will contribute to curriculum development, create schemes of work, and collaborate with colleagues to align objectives with the school's strategic priorities.

This role is full time, term time only, with a start date of April or September 2026.
