Job description
Overview

This exciting role is within our national IGH Corporate Tax Advisory & Compliance team, based in our Manchester office, but open to other regions depending on candidate. Our clients include UK headquartered and in‑bound clients in the IGH sector across the following sub‑sectors:

  • Higher Education
  • Social Housing
  • Local Government
  • Public Health
  • Charities
  • Central Government

Our work in the tax advisory space includes supporting clients with business and fiscal change. This can include advising on new jurisdiction entry, the development of new business areas, business reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, pre/post transaction reorganisations, refinancing, cash repatriation, interest deductibility, development activity, charity compliance and charitable donations / Gift Aid. We work as a hybrid team where we get together in the office or at client sites at least twice a week to collaborate and learn together, with flexibility over how you spend the rest of your time.

Responsibilities
  • Working closely with Partners and/or Directors on complex projects to deliver technically excellent advice and service
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding their business in order to build an external network and create opportunities to help with the provision of tax and other services
  • Managing UK and cross‑border teams on advisory projects, liaising with specialists, overseas member firms and external advisers, critically analysing and challenging their input to deliver successful projects and expertise to clients. Managing and delivering compliance services
  • Managing aspects of the team’s operations and performance, including resourcing, coaching and developing junior team members
  • Seeking out and pursuing opportunities with clients and targets and actively participating with Partners and Directors in business development activities
  • Managing our engagement quality and risk processes and client financials
  • Brings insight and effectively applies knowledge to business and client problems
  • Sound judgement, including the ability to identify and evaluate risk issues and know when to involve others
  • Ability to multi‑task and manage a range of clients, projects and relationships
  • Strong motivation to develop and coach junior team members
