Job summary

A prominent supermarket chain in Welwyn Garden City is looking for a Sustainable Agriculture Specialist to support sustainable agriculture strategies, specifically targeting lamb supply chains. The successful candidate will manage various initiatives and collaborate with suppliers to meet environmental and welfare standards. Qualifications include a degree in agriculture or sustainability, alongside relevant experience in project management and stakeholder engagement. Qualifications

  • Experience within agriculture or sustainability sector relating to agriculture.
  • Experience of project management, delivering and sustaining change.
  • Ability to work on cross functional projects that are relevant to the broader Sustainability team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Tesco agriculture supply chains with a focus on lamb.
  • Help suppliers understand customer expectations on farming best practices.
  • Manage initiatives including Future Farmer Programme and Tesco Welfare Approved reporting.
  • Build relationships with commercial, technical teams and external data service providers.
  • Drive continuous improvement in lamb supply chain sustainability.
