This role is perfectly suited to those with experience in care, residential support, SEN services, youth work, or community roles who now want to make a difference within an education setting. Your existing skillset–such as empathy, de‑ascension, safeguarding awareness, calm communication and a supportive approach–translates exceptionally well to the classroom.

What the role involves:
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups
  • Helping students regulate behaviour, manage emotions and stay engaged
  • Assisting teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and personal development
  • Contributing to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing at all times
