Job summary

Riverside Hostel Brixton is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to help customers rebuild their lives by providing practical and emotional support, connecting them with employability coaches and benefits services, and assisting with money management and housing moves.

You will record all activity, work as part of a team, be resilient and empathetic, and flexible about hours. The role involves lone working at times and can be challenging, yet highly rewarding.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with vulnerable people.
• Experience of delivering structured support and risk management.
• Team player with a caring and empathetic nature with a resilient, can-do attitude.
• Understanding of supporting vulnerable people including lived experience of homelessness or drug/alcohol addiction.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including lone working.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to customers in a variety of ways, connecting them with employability coaches and other support services.
• Assist with money management, benefits sign-ups or housing moves.
• Keep records of all activities and admin tasks.
• Work as part of a team, remaining resilient and empathetic even in challenging situations.
