Join Our Team as an Experienced Support Worker
We’re seeking experienced support workers to join our team at Dimensions, working in a specialist supported living home in a 2:1 setting with a young woman in her early 30s. This is a single-person home that requires emotionally resilient individuals who are confident in supporting complex behaviours and committed to building strong, trusting relationships.
Physical support is not the focus here; your role is about helping her feel secure, understood, and valued. Emotional regulation, positive engagement, and consistent communication will be central to your day-to-day work. She’s intelligent, witty, and knows exactly what she enjoys. Your support will involve helping her navigate daily life, whether that’s preparing meals together, assisting with personal care routines, or accompanying her to the social groups and interests she loves.
You’ll receive comprehensive training and guidance from our in-house Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) team. The home benefits from a well-established PBS plan, designed to help staff respond confidently and compassionately in challenging situations. During your induction, you’ll be supported directly by the locality manager and work alongside experienced colleagues to help you settle in.
This role demands patience and consistency. It’s not just about showing up, it’s about staying present, even when things are tough. With the right team, she flourishes through shared humour and connection. Her interests include Barbie, Only Fools and Horses, animals, community clubs, and getting out and about.
The home operates 24-hour support, with a mix of early shifts (7am–2:30pm), late shifts (2:15pm–9:45/10pm), waking nights (9:45pm–7:15am), and occasional long days. Ideally, you’ll be available for alternate weekend shifts, though more frequent weekend availability may be needed initially as we build a strong and consistent team.
Responsibilities are focused on providing emotional support, fostering a secure environment, and helping her navigate daily life, including meals, personal care routines, and social activities as appropriate to the role.
