Would you love a new part‑time job where you go home every day knowing you've made a difference? You’re in luck as we're looking for two new colleagues to join our amazing #TeamGlenorchy in Lennoxtown on a permanent, part‑time (30 hours per week) basis.
You’ll become part of a friendly, fun, and dedicated team who supports five individuals with various support needs who live in their shared home. There's never a dull moment at Glenorchy, so if you're looking for a job where it's different every day, then this could be the role for you!
As a Support Practitioner, your focus will be to help the individuals we support with all aspects of their daily living, including shopping, finances, meal preparation, personal care and housework.
You’ll also support with their hobbies and interests too, so will find yourself enjoying the odd holiday, a bit of football, socialising, singing and various indoor and outdoor activities.
At Cornerstone, we don’t recruit on experience and qualifications; we’re more interested in what you as a person will bring to our team! We’ll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills to be successful in your new role. We’ll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6 / 7 qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!
If you don't live in the Lennoxtown area and are not a driver, we will need you to be mindful of the location of our service and be confident that you can travel for your shifts as there are limited public transport links available that fit with all our shift patterns.
As we're dedicated to providing the best support, tailored to the needs of each individual the shifts will usually fall into patterns between the hours of 0700-2200 hours. Sleepovers, waking nights, weekends and public holidays would also for part of your rota on a rotational basis.
Our sleepovers don't form part of your contracted hours, you’ll receive an additional payment for every sleepover shift you work!
Please note that we are unable to work these contracted posts around a university or college timetable and / or placements.

Please note – if you have spent more than 12 months out with the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over the age of 18, you will be asked to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government / police authority as part of our pre‑employment checks.
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.
If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
