£300 - £350 per day

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Consultant on an interim basis to support our engineering‑led manufacturing client based in West Yorkshire. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role suited to someone who understands what good looks like within a supplier environment and can drive supplier performance to meet robust engineering and quality standards.

You will play a key role in assessing, developing, and strengthening their supplier base—particularly across the Yorkshire region—through regular on‑site visits, audits, inspections, and performance reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and process reviews to ensure compliance with engineering and manufacturing quality standards.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to suppliers to enhance quality performance and product consistency.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and procurement teams to resolve supplier issues and support corrective actions.
  • Produce clear, structured reports outlining findings, recommendations, and follow‑up activities.
  • Lead and support supplier development initiatives to strengthen supply chain resilience and reliability.
  • Travel extensively across Yorkshire to visit suppliers (regular weekly travel expected).
Key Skills
  • Strong background of experience gained within a quality engineering context with a particular focus on supplier evaluations.
  • Previous experience in supplier quality, supplier development, or supply chain quality roles.
  • Proven understanding of high‑performing supplier systems and processes.
  • Hands‑on, pragmatic approach with the ability to challenge and influence suppliers effectively.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
