Qualifications

  • Experience as a Studio Manager, Coordinator, PA or similar role within an architectural or design studio.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

Job description

We’re working with a design-led architectural practice based in Central London who are seeking a highly organised, proactive Studio Manager to join them on a 12-month maternity cover contract. The studio is a small, collaborative team known for their thoughtful approach to design, and they need someone who can ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations while also contributing to marketing, business development and creative studio support.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a multifaceted position—balancing administrative duties with opportunities to support marketing initiatives, bids, communications and wider project activity. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within an architectural or design practice and an understanding of how studios operate, including familiarity with RIBA stages.

There is the option for this role to be full-time or 4 days per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing day-to-day studio operations and maintaining an organised, professional environment
  • Managing shared inboxes, diary coordination, travel arrangements and general studio administration
  • Leading weekly admin meetings, taking minutes and tracking actions
  • Coordinating internal and external studio events, team activities and staff organisation
  • Supporting Health & Safety and QA processes
  • Managing website updates, social media content and supporting wider marketing activity
  • Preparing press releases, liaising with journalists / editors and assisting with PR opportunities
  • Assisting with marketing collateral, brochures and bid materials using InDesign
  • Attending weekly new business meetings and maintaining the new business tracker
  • Researching new leads, competitions and opportunities
  • Providing HR admin support including recruitment coordination, onboarding, policies and reviews
  • Processing expenses, preparing invoices and assisting with financial administration
  • Helping foster a positive, collaborative studio culture
Skills & Experience
  • Experience as a Studio Manager, Coordinator, PA or similar role within an architectural or design studio
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office 365; Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat
  • Understanding of architectural workflows, including RIBA stages
  • Experience supporting marketing, communications or business development activity (desirable)
  • Proactive, personable, calm under pressure and comfortable working in a small creative team
  • High level of professionalism, accuracy and attention to detail
