Sandwell College is seeking a compassionate Student Support Officer to join the Cradley Campus. The role focuses on pastoral care, wellbeing, and enabling student success during term-time and a 30-hour week.

You will work with curriculum staff, safeguarding teams, and external partners to ensure every student receives the necessary support and to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Competenze

• GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4+) or equivalent.
• Experience in further education or school environment.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and multi‑agency working.
• Relevant qualification in education, youth work, or support services.
• Experience in student support, pastoral care, or welfare roles.

Mansioni

• Provide pastoral and wellbeing support to students, helping them overcome personal, social, or academic challenges.
• Assist students in accessing essential welfare support, such as free school meals and bursary payments.
• Identify, record, and report behavioural and welfare concerns, ensuring timely escalation to safeguarding staff.
• Contribute to student interventions and action plans, helping learners stay on track with their studies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records while liaising with staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.
