Job summary

Kedleston Group’s Oakbridge School in Handsworth, Birmingham invites a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to provide pastoral, emotional and behavioural support to pupils, helping them engage with learning and reach their potential.

This term-time-only role offers a supportive school environment, with opportunities to contribute to wellbeing, attendance and student progress while working with teaching staff and families.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths required.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Excellent inter-personal skills required.
• Experience with SEND in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral, emotional and academic support to pupils to engage with learning and achieve their potential.
• Deliver learning activities and lessons to individuals, small groups and whole classes under teaching staff guidance.
• Promote pupil wellbeing, positive behaviour and attendance, liaising with families and carers to support progress.
• Assist teachers with lesson preparation, resource development, assessment, administration and school activities including visits and parents' evenings.
