Overview

Do you enjoy working closely with young people, supporting their progress and celebrating their success? We are looking for a part-time Student Pastoral Assistant (up to 27.5 hours per week) with flexibility for the right candidate. The role is based in Deal within the Student Services Team at our state‑of‑the‑art academy. The successful candidate will promote high standards of behaviour and learning in accordance with the Academy Behaviour and Learning Policy and will provide a visible presence across the Academy during lessons and unstructured times.

Responsibilities
  • Support students by addressing pastoral or behavioural needs to help overcome barriers to learning and enable students to reach their full potential.
  • Work with students, parents, staff and other agencies to improve behaviour and attendance.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Undertake First Aid training.
  • Supervise detentions as required.
  • Provide on‑call support to teaching staff.
  • Oversee and carry out daily uniform and equipment checks.
Working pattern

Actual working pattern can be discussed at interview; hours are intended to be worked over 5 days.
