Role – Street Scene Operative

Location – Heywood
Pay – £12.85 per hour PAYE (holiday) | £16.12 per hour LTD via Umbrella
Hours – 37 per week (Monday to Friday)

Overview

Service Care Solutions is collaborating with a local authority in Rochdale to fill temporary Street Scene Operative positions across the Heywood area. Operatives will support the Street team in maintaining tidy streets and open spaces, making Heywood and Rochdale pleasant places to live.

Key Responsibilities
  • Litter picking, including dog foul
  • Emptying litter bins
  • Street scene work, including graffiti removal, reporting bulk waste
  • Grounds maintenance such as grass cutting, weeding of flowers and shrubs
  • Completing documentation accurately: work schedules, vehicle checks, route sheets
  • Supporting other departments within the streets team as required
  • Assisting the public in a courteous manner
  • Undertaking snow clearing and salting of pathways
  • Driving to different borough areas to complete checks, deliver goods, personnel, and cleaning duties
  • Using different machinery and products on a daily basis
Requirements
  • Flexible approach to work, allowing outside normal hours
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience using cleaning and grounds maintenance machinery
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Undertaking in‑house training when required
