Job summary

Amey is offering an exciting opportunity for an Operational Controller to join the Strategic Highways Area 7 team based in Newton-le-Willows, Warrington. You will coordinate incident response across the strategic road network, ensuring safety and continuity for road users and stakeholders.

This site-based role operates on a rotating shift pattern, with 12-hour shifts, 4 days on and 4 days off, including nights.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating incident response in a fast-paced operational/highways environment.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Incident Response Teams across the strategic highway network.
• Deploy crews to accidents, incidents and emergencies.
• Manage defects reported by inspectors, the police and other stakeholders.
• Act as central point of communication between operational teams and stakeholders.
• Support daily operational handovers to ensure continuity of service.
• Manage resource deployment and operational responses.
