Job summary

Amey is hiring a permanent Team Leader on-site in Stafford (ST16 2DH). You will lead a busy Operational Control Room team, coordinate maintenance operations, and drive safety, performance, and continuous improvement.

The role offers flexible working patterns including hybrid and part-time options within a UK-wide network. You will manage resources, develop staff, and report on KPIs while liaising with multiple stakeholders to ensure contractual targets are met and processes are well documented.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a customer service, control room, operations centre, or highways operations team.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-motivated and pro-active in delivering solutions.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and make informed decisions under pressure.
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting performance data and producing reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of Operational Control Room colleagues
• Maintain high technical standards and oversee project briefings
• Ensure team and public safety in compliance with health and safety legislation
• Monitor team performance against contractual KPIs, SLAs, and operational targets
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability
• Liaise with various stakeholders, manage records, and complete necessary documentation
• Coordinate day-to-day maintenance operations and manage resources efficiently
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across the contract.
• Analyse operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
• Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and team briefings
