Stores Operative=contexted

Location: Thetford, Norfolk
Contract: Temporary assignment to cover maternity
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm

Our client is currently seeking a reliable and motivated Stores Operative to join their team in Thetford on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with stores or warehouse experience who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and contributing to high service standards.

The Role

Working closely with the Insite Stores Manager, the Stores Operative will play a key role in supporting daily operations across purchasing, material control, and warehouse activities. The position is essential in ensuring smooth processes, cost efficiency, and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the sourcing of stock and non-stock items in line with customer requirements
  • Assist in maintaining a consistently high level of customer serviceéli>
  • Contribute to cost‑saving initiatives through supplier and OEM evaluation
  • Provide support to maintenance engineers with technical queries
  • Help deliver value‑added services while achieving agreed cost‑saving targets
  • Coordinate supplier site visits to support value‑added activities
  • Identify and support sales opportunities across departments
  • Manage day‑to‑day warehouse operations, including goods‑in, stock replenishment, stock checks, and housekeeping
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in stores or warehouse operations
