Stores & Logistics Lead

Location: Basildon

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role

Syntech Recruitment are working with a long standing client who are seeking an experienced Stores & Logistics Supervisor to oversee and develop the stores and logistics function at their Basildon site. This is a hands‑on leadership role, responsible for ensuring accurate stock control, efficient material flow, and high standards across receiving, storage, kitting, and dispatch operations.

You will lead a small team and play a key role in supporting manufacturing and customer requirements through effective inventory and logistics management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day stores and logistics operations for the Basildon site
  • Receive and inspect deliveries, ensuring quantities, revisions, condition, and certification are correct
  • Maintain accurate stock rotation in line with FIFO principles
  • Issue materials into manufacturing in line with job cards, ensuring correct revisions and transaction accuracy
  • Despatch materials to sub-contractors, ensuring all required documentation is included and stock integrity is maintained
  • Manage the despatch of finished goods to customers, ensuring correct paperwork and carriage methods
  • Ensure all goods leaving site are packaged appropriately to minimise transit damage
  • Maintain accurate stock location and storage to reduce risk of damage or loss
  • Ensure inventory accuracy within the WMS
  • Manage non-BOM items using min/max levels, KANBAN systems, etc.
  • Monitor expiry dates, end-of-life items, and excess & obsolete stock risks
  • Work closely with the Purchasing team to resolve goods-in discrepancies
  • Carry out weekly cycle counts and support year-end inventory counts
  • Load and offload goods as required
  • Undertake any other duties as required to support operations
