Job summary

Sainsbury's Limited is seeking a Customer and Trading Manager – Convenience to lead daily store operations and deliver excellent customer service. You will work with a small team of managers to run the store efficiently, manage performance, and ensure safe, smooth operations.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, with accountability for day-to-day running and potential support for nearby stores as needed. A strong track record in KPI delivery and customer engagement is required.

Qualifications

• Previous line management responsibilities in a fast-paced, operational environment.
• Delivers brilliant customer service and coaches a team to do the same.
• Demonstrates ability to meeting or exceeding KPIs (sales, availability, customer satisfaction, etc.).
• Experience leading operations and coordinating store activities in the absence of senior managers.
• Handles employee relations issues including performance and absence management.

Responsibilities

• Working closely with a small team of managers to ensure the store runs like clockwork every day.
• Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the store, often as the sole manager in the shop.
• Work alongside a team to complete all tasks, ensuring customers are served efficiently and safely.
• People management: performance, capability, disciplinaries, scheduling and pay accuracy.
• May support other stores in the network when needed.
