Job summary

The Boots Company PLC is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead a team on the shop floor, delivering outstanding customer care and ensuring safe, compliant pharmacy services. You’ll coach and develop colleagues, plan rotas and manage day-to-day operations to drive strong performance.

You’ll balance people, performance and store operations, taking ownership of the customer and patient experience while supporting store standards, stock control and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the team on the shop floor, coaching and role-modelling customer care and commercial performance.
• Manage day-to-day store operations, including planning, scheduling, staffing and workload prioritisation.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance through audits and checks.
• Drive stock availability, costs control and loss prevention.
• Utilise data and in-store insights to identify opportunities and take action.
• Represent the Store in the absence of Store Leader and take accountability for decisions and performance.
• Support career development of team members through regular feedback and development conversations.
• Collaborate with Pharmacy-led services to ensure safe and compliant operations.
