Job summary

Boots is looking for an Assistant Manager to lead daily shop floor operations, coach the team and model caring, compliant retail practice. You’ll balance people, performance and store performance while delivering high standards for customers and patients.

You’ll report to the Store Manager, plan rotas, drive customer care and commercial results, and own stock availability, audits and safety checks. This hands-on role offers development through broader leadership opportunities within Boots.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a customer-facing environment.
• Proven ability to drive performance.
• Strong planning and scheduling capabilities.
• Knowledge of compliance, safety and operational standards.
• Ability to use data and reports to make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead your team to deliver strong performance while providing great care to customers and patients.
• Create a positive, supportive team environment.
• Coach, develop and line manage your team with regular feedback and clear goals.
• Be responsible for the day-to-day running of the store including scheduling and workload planning.
• Maintain high store standards: cleanliness, safety and ease of shopping.
• Oversee stock availability, cost control and loss prevention.
• Ensure audits, checks and risk assessments are completed to stay compliant.
• Use data and in-store insight to identify opportunities and take action.
• Lead the store in the Store Leader’s absence and own decisions.
