Job description
Staff Nurse Vacancies – Acute Medical Unit, Frimley Park Hospital

We are excited to offer two permanent full-time Staff Nurse opportunities (37.5 hours per week) within our Acute Medical Unit (AMU) at Frimley Park Hospital, part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

The Acute Medical Unit is a 42-bedded ward that receives emergency medical admissions. Patients typically stay for 24–72 hours, giving you the chance to develop your skills in managing a wide variety of acute conditions, including:

  • Cardiology
  • Respiratory medicine
  • Gastroenterology
  • Elderly care
  • Endocrinology
  • Mental health

Working alongside the Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be supported to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care while also learning to coordinate admissions and contribute to maintaining the highest standards of practice.

Main duties of the job

Our units are rapidly developing unit, caring for patients with a range of acute medical conditions and fast paced patient turnover.

The department takes admissions from our Emergency department and Medical SDEC.

You will work as part of a team of nurses, health care assistants and care assistants and be responsible for the assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care.
