Job summary

Engine by Starling is seeking a Staff Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and run the cloud foundations for our banking platform. You will own scalable GCP infrastructure, ensure high performance and security, and lead complex projects across regions and providers.

You will work in a fast-paced fintech environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, observable systems and secure cloud foundations for production.

Qualifications

• Proven GCP multi-region disaster recovery experience.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform services including GKE, Compute Engine, Network Connectivity Center, Cloud SQL, IAM and VPC Service Controls.
• Experience with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with service-oriented architecture using containers and immutable infrastructure.
• Experience with key and secret management on GCP — Cloud KMS, Cloud External Key Manager (EKM) and Secret Manager.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, build and maintain scalable infrastructure on GCP across regions.
• Lead complex infrastructure projects from inception through to run and future capabilities.
• Write clear technical documentation and host training sessions for the team.
• Demonstrate knowledge of new technologies and industry changes.
