Job summary
Engine by Starling is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and run the cloud foundations underpinning our banking platform. You will own scalable cloud infrastructure across regions, emphasizing reliability, observability and security.
You will lead complex projects, collaborate across teams, and help shape future capabilities with automation, policy-driven governance, and modern tooling in a hybrid-work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience with multi-region GCP deployments and DR
- Experience bootstrapping GCP Organisations and IAM
- Experience with Terraform code and modular design
- Experience with containerised architectures (Kubernetes, containers) and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong understanding of security, compliance and data protection in cloud platforms
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools
Responsibilities
- Design, document, build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP
- Ensure reliability and cost-efficiency of cloud environments
- Automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual work
- Implement security by design and compliance controls (ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS)
- Manage key/secret infrastructure (KMS, EKM, Secret Manager)
- Lead complex infrastructure projects from inception to production
