Job summary

A technology recruitment agency is seeking an eDV-cleared Site Reliability Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Gloucester. Starting in April 2026, you will enhance system reliability using Oracle APEX and SQL/PLSQL, implement monitoring and automation, and collaborate with teams for continuous improvement. Candidates must have active eDV clearance and experience with RESTful integrations and APIs. Competitive daily rate of £560 offered.

Qualifications

  • Active, transferable eDV clearance is mandatory.
  • Proven experience in a Site Reliability Engineer role.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle APEX.
  • Strong skills in SQL and PLSQL.
  • Competence in RESTful integrations and APIs.

SRE Engineer (APEX / SQL / APIs) — eDV Cleared — 12 Month Contract (Inside IR35)

Start: April 2026

Contract length: 12 months

IR35 status: Inside IR35

Rate: £560 per day

Clearance: eDV (Enhanced DV) required

Location: UK (working arrangements/on‑site requirements may apply due to clearance)

We’re looking for an eDV‑cleared Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong engineering mindset and hands‑on experience supporting and improving systems using Oracle APEX, SQL/PLSQL, and API‑led / RESTful integrations. You’ll focus on reliability, availability, observability, and automation across a secure, high‑profile environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Improve and maintain platform/service reliability, performance, and availability
  • Support and engineer solutions around Oracle APEX and database‑led applications
  • Develop and optimise SQL / PLSQL (performance tuning, troubleshooting, maintenance)
  • Design/support RESTful integrations and API connectivity between services
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post‑incident improvements
  • Automate operational tasks and support continuous improvement of release processes
  • Collaborate with delivery teams and stakeholders to reduce toil and strengthen resilience
Essential skills & experience
  • Active, transferable eDV clearance (mandatory)
  • Proven experience as an SRE / Production Engineer / Reliability‑focused Engineer
  • Hands‑on skills with Oracle APEX
  • SQL / PLSQL
