Contract: Full-time Term-time
Pay: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

A welcoming primary/secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking an enthusiastic Sports Teaching Assistant to support pupils both in the classroom and through physical education and sports-based activities.

Role Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils in lessons using sports and physical activity to promote engagement
  • Assisting with PE lessons, sports clubs, and extracurricular activities
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils who benefit from active learning
  • Encouraging teamwork, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development
  • Working closely with teachers to adapt activities to suit different abilities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • A background in sports, coaching, or physical education
  • Experience working with children or young people (school, club, or community setting)
  • High energy, positive attitude, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage pupils through sport
  • A genuine passion for health, fitness, and education
Desirable (Not Essential)
  • Coaching qualifications (e.g. FA, Level 1/2 Coaching, Sports Science)
  • Experience supporting SEND or behavioural needs
  • First Aid or safeguarding training
