Overview

SPORT & FITNESS TUTOR TRAINER — Based in Newport, Isle of Wight.

Salary Range: £24,000 to £27,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience

Join our award-winning team at HTP Apprenticeship College. We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual to support our Level 2 & 3 Sport and Fitness programmes delivery, with relevant skills and qualifications in the sports and fitness sector, who is ready to make a difference.

Role

This is a varied and rewarding position delivering engaging training sessions, combining knowledge-based coaching. You’ll predominantly support learners on full-time college-based courses studying at Level 2 or 3. This is a vital role in guiding learners through their journey, helping them gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed in industry and become a valued member of society and the community.

Vacancies are full-time permanent positions of 37 hours per week.

What we’re looking for
  • Relevant industry experience: Experience in a sport & fitness environment (ideally with time at a supervisory level). Candidates should have qualifications at a minimum of BTEC / NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Sport / Fitness or equivalent. Passion for supporting others: A commitment to helping students thrive in their learning.
  • Great communication and organisation: You’re confident working independently and building relationships with learners and local employers.
  • Transport: You’ll need access to your own vehicle as you may be required to visit learners when they are on work placements.
  • Maths and English: A good academic level of both Maths and English (minimum GCSE Grade C or 4 or equivalent).
  • Motivation: You should thrive in a results-driven environment.
Desirable (But Not Essential)

Experience or qualifications in assessing, verifying, or teaching would be an advantage. If you’re eager to learn and determined to succeed, we’ll provide training and support to gain these qualifications.

Hours of Work
  • Monday to Thursday: 9am–5pm
  • Friday: 9am–4:30pm
