Speech and Language Therapist (CAMHS Inpatient)

We are looking for a confident Speech and Language Therapist with a passion for delivering outstanding care. You will be working full time, 40 hours a week, making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield.

About the Service

Cygnet Hospital Sheffield provides a CAMHS service supporting young people aged 12-18 with a range of mental health needs in acute environments (GAU) and a Hybrid Intensive Support service (ISS). The aim of the service is to help young people strengthen their skills, stabilise, and return to the community as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored assessments and therapy to young people in a fast‑paced inpatient setting.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including on‑site teaching staff and other professionals, to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care.
  • Assist with the development of positive behaviour support plans and person‑centred communication environments.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to routine service meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
  • Support the delivery of evidence‑based practice and maintain best practice within the team.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A Diploma or Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and current HCPC registration.
  • Strong clinical and professional skills with a keen interest in CYP, criminal justice and mental health conditions.
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support with an emphasis on person‑centred planning.
  • Evidence of being a strong team player with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Good organisational and project management skills and the ability to work flexibly in a fast‑paced environment.
