A UK-based healthcare provider is seeking a Speciality Doctor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for maternity cover at Wexham Park Hospital. Applications are invited for the post of Speciality Doctor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery on a locum basis to provide maternity cover. The post is based at the Wexham Park Hospital Heatherwood site of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful applicant will join a busy and innovative team. We are looking to appoint a high quality person who will add value to the department. We seek applications from candidates with demonstrable expertise in secondary care orthodontics.
Candidates must have full GDC registration with a minimum of 2 years hospital experience in Oral Surgery or Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
This post requires a self‑motivated doctor with some Oral & Maxillofacial surgery experience to work with other trainee doctors and consultants to care for the emergency and elective patients of OMFS and Head & Neck.
A broad‑based knowledge in all aspects of OMFS is beneficial but the weekly timetable can be adjusted based on the experience of the successful candidate and the needs of the service. The successful candidate will work as a member of the middle grade team who are both medically and dentally qualified doctors supporting services across the network.
The post holder will undertake OPD sessions and L/A Minor Oral Surgery sessions as well as day‑case operating lists carrying out mostly dentoalveolar and soft tissue surgery.
The job plan will be subject to change with the agreement of the post holder and the OMFS Clinical Lead. The post holder will be supervised, supported, and collaborate with other practitioners as agreed to be appropriate with the OMFS Clinical Lead.
He/she should deputise from time to time for absent colleagues and may perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
