A tutoring service is seeking a skilled, patient tutor to support a Year 4 student experiencing emotional challenges. The role is home-based and requires experience with children facing emotional and mental health issues, including Autistic Spectrum Condition. The tutor will build rapport and adapt learning approaches to boost emotional readiness and academic engagement. Ideal candidates will have at least 6 months of experience in a UK education setting and a calm, nurturing attitude.
We are seeking a skilled, patient, and emotionally‑aware tutor to work with a young person, M, who is currently in Year 4 and living within the DT6 postal area. M is experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) and has a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). Their primary areas of need include Communication & Interaction and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
This role requires someone who can build trust gradually, work relationally, and create a calm, low‑pressure learning environment that supports both emotional wellbeing and academic engagement.
M is bright, curious, and capable, but currently finds formal learning environments overwhelming. They benefit from predictability, gentle encouragement, and low‑demand interaction.
