A community health service in Leeds is seeking a Specialist Technical Instructor to join the communication aid team. You will manage devices, support team operations, and assist adults and young individuals with communication difficulties through the use of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). Strong technical skills, particularly with Apple devices, and excellent communication abilities are crucial. This role requires empathy and a proactive approach to learning and development.

This role is based in the UK. Employment is conditional on confirmation of the right to work in the UK – either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa. We are seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join our small communication aid team which is part of the Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Service. Your role will be as a Specialist technical instructor based at Chapeltown Health Centre. You will have a passion for supporting adults and children/young people with communication difficulties who require the use of Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) to communicate with others. In addition to excellent communication skills and an understanding of severe and complex communication needs, you will be highly technical and have a sound understanding of Apple devices and other communication aids.
The interview will be held at Chapeltown Health Centre on Wednesday the 4th of February 2026.
